Mafia: Definitive Edition is an exciting open-world game that throws you into the criminal underbelly of the fictional city known as Lost Heaven.

When it comes to cinematic games that are based on gritty crime families, very few titles are as popular as Mafia: Definitive Edition. This is a complete remaster of the original game, and it is going to be a must-have for anyone who was a fan of the 2002 release. While there are a few unusual bugs that seem to occasionally stall the game, this remastered version is still a great title that is going to provide you with quite a few hours of entertainment.

You start this game as a lonely and misguided taxi driver in the fictional city of Lost Heaven. That city is based on Chicago, and the development team has done an excellent job of matching the look and feel of that era. The Prohibition is slowly coming to an end as you begin the game, and all of the various mob families are fighting over the last bit of money they can make before alcohol once again becomes legal. During the campaign itself, you are going to transition from a poor taxi driver to a dangerous hitman for one of the most powerful crime families in the city.

The campaign itself is expertly done, but you shouldn’t expect any world-class twist and turns. The storyline is fairly straightforward, and you will carry out a variety of basic quests. As a criminal underlying, you will need to rough people up, steal from rival criminal families, and bribe police officers. As the story progresses, you are going to rise through the ranks of the organization until you are one of the most renowned criminals in the city.

Mafia: Definitive Edition will also provide you with quite a bit to do in between all of your quests and campaign chapters. The city of Lost Heaven is very large, and there are unique characters around every corner. If you simply want to drive around and explore, you should be able to find a wide array of interesting stories and side quests. Overall, this game is sure to keep you entertained for quite some time if you are a fan of the genre.
